Introduction

Tru Diagnostix LLC ("Tru Diagnostix," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients (the auto-repair shops that use our software) and their customers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that information.

By using any Tru Diagnostix software, website, or services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Business information — company name, address, phone number, email address
  • Account credentials — login information used to access our platform
  • Customer records — names, contact details (including phone numbers and email addresses), vehicle information, and job history entered by you or your team
  • Job and invoice data — estimates, invoices, labor notes, parts lists, mileage, and technician documentation
  • Billing information — details used for subscription or service fees

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information — browser type, operating system, device type
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent in the application
  • IP address — used for security and fraud prevention

Information From Third-Party Services

Tru Diagnostix uses the following third-party service providers, which process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:

  • Supabase — cloud database, authentication, and file storage for application data
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI-generated diagnoses, estimates, and documentation are processed through Anthropic's API
  • Stripe — payment processing for invoices and subscriptions
  • Resend — delivery of transactional and service-related email
  • Twilio — delivery of text-message (SMS) notifications
  • Shopify — our marketing website and any e-commerce transactions
  • Calendly — scheduling requests submitted through our website

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver, maintain, and improve our software and services
  • Generate AI-powered estimates, invoices, and documentation on your behalf
  • Process payments and manage invoice and payment status
  • Send service-related communications, including reminders, service updates, service reports, and billing notifications (see Section 7, Text Messaging)
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Monitor platform usage to detect errors, abuse, or security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not:

  • Sell or rent your data to third parties
  • Share your or your customers' mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing
  • Send marketing communications without a lawful basis or your consent
  • Train AI models on your private business or customer data without your explicit permission

3. How Your Data Is Stored

Tru Diagnostix is a cloud-based platform. Your business data, customer records, vehicles, jobs, estimates, invoices, and settings are stored securely in the cloud using Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), and our application is hosted on Vercel. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL).

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and thereafter as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your data as described in Section 9.

4. Payments

Payments made through Tru Diagnostix are processed by Stripe. We use Stripe Connect so that payments for a shop's invoices are routed to that shop's connected Stripe account. Card and bank details are collected and handled directly by Stripe on its secure, PCI-compliant systems — Tru Diagnostix does not collect or store full card numbers or bank credentials. We retain only non-sensitive references (such as payment status, amount, date, and a Stripe transaction identifier) needed to show whether an invoice has been paid. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy and terms.

5. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL) across our web properties and application
  • Access controls restricting data to authorized personnel and role-based permissions within the application
  • Secure storage of secrets and API keys in protected server environments (never in public client code)
  • Reliance on established, security-vetted providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Resend, Twilio) for processing and storage
  • Regular security reviews of our software and infrastructure

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your devices protected.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers — the trusted third parties listed in Section 1 (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, Twilio, Shopify, Calendly), who process data on our behalf to operate the platform and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations
  • Legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business transfer — in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with advance notice
  • With your consent — for any other purpose with your explicit permission

We never sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes.Mobile information is used only to deliver messages you or your customers have consented to receive, and is processed only by Twilio acting on our behalf.

7. Text Messaging (SMS)

Tru Diagnostix enables auto-repair shops to send text-message notifications to customers who provide their mobile number and consent to receive them. Messages may include appointment and service reminders, service-status updates, service reports, and invoice or payment links.

  • Consent: Text messages are sent only to customers who have opted in (for example, by verbally agreeing at the time of service, which the shop records in our system). Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
  • No sharing of mobile information: We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile information is used only to deliver consented messages and is processed by our messaging provider, Twilio, on our behalf.
  • Message frequency varies based on your service activity.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; you will receive a confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at (502) 649-1096 / trudiagnostix@gmail.com.
  • Message delivery is subject to carrier availability; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, analyze traffic, and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling them may affect certain features. We do not use cookies to track you across unrelated third-party websites.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time (including replying STOP to texts)
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format where applicable

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond within 30 days.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us directly.

11. Children's Privacy

Tru Diagnostix services are intended for businesses and adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. For significant changes, we will notify active users by email or in-app notice. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
